Just curious to see what everyone does:

I haven't had a tank set up for a couple years, cuz my current build is... taking some time. I never did QT, I never had Ich but had some unexplained deaths.

On my next tank I intend to QT everything, from DD or not. I don't see any point to in only sometimes QTing. All or nothing.

I lost 90% of my fish pre QT. I have only lost 2 out of 13 since QTing. I don't know why I lost the first one, think it was a heart attack. I stuck my hand in the tank with a hose to do a WC to lower the salinity for hypo and my mimic I just bought flopped over dead, not breathing. I tried to resuscitate it but I couldn't. The other one died in QT from getting picked on by my purple tang I think. Without QT and hypo I would have lost at least 6 more fish, they were on deaths door until I started hypo.

I never qt and never will.

I also won't own $500 fish.

The effort is way to high.


Now I am looking for a pair or trio of flames from Hawaii. Those will go into a sump area and get used to eating frozen foods etc before going into the display but It's not really qt.
