I qted a coral beauty for awhile and than I put it in my ST. The next day it developed ich, it breathing is normal. When I feed the fish it only eats a little, could it be because of the grazing it does? I notice it spends alot of time picking at rocks and the back of the tank for these green little hairy things. I feed new life spectrum, cyclop eeze, formual 2, hikari brineshrimp mixed with garlic guard and vita chem. Any suggestions besides pulling it out of the tank? How hardy are coral beauties at dealing with ich? Are they ich magnets like for example the blue tang? From a scale of 1-10 what would you rate them 1 being weak and 10 being hardy. If anyone could share their expereiences with CB getting ich in ST and how you delt with it, that would be awsome. Thanks

Im a believer that ich has the possibility to be present all the time and only gets a foot hold on the fish when it is stressed, much like when you or I are more prone to sickness.

If I remember correctly, it is usually not the ich that kills the fish, but the infections that result from scratching and the original cause of the stress if it is not corrected.

If the fish is strong, and I assume it is because you had it in QT, and it is eating, after it gets aquainted with his new roommates and calms down the ich will subside.

At least this is my theory when I have had it in the past.

That or catch it and reQT it with copper.

dots,
right on the money, after a few days feeding alot the ich slowly went away. I too believe that ich is always around.
