QTing Wrasse and Goby w/out Sand?

I like to QT all new fish for at least 4 weeks before adding to my reef but I have yet to add any fish to the QT that are sand demanding. How do people QT these fish in a BB QT? Do I need to add sand?

I was thinking of getting a Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse, Pink Margin Wrasse and a Hector's Goby (or a Wheeler's Watchman Goby).

Any suggestions would be great!

Flasher and Fairy wrasses do not sleep in sand, they sleep in the rocks. So no need for sand with those guys. I have no experience with the goby.

I QT'd my shrimp and goby for a month with no sand, but I did LR and some rubble.

In the past, I also QT'd sand demanding wrasses (not fairy/flassher wrasses) with a tupperware container full of sand that was larger then they were. The wrasses both slept in the sand. I believe this is also how people with BB tanks keep some wrasses.

I QT'd my Wheeler's Watchman Goby for 3 weeks. (I know I should have waited longer. )
All I had in the tank was small pile of PVC parts for him to hide in and a sponge filter. He didn't seem to mind much.
