I have an older system that is 135 gallons and the following is my params:

ph = 8.5
co2 ph = 6.55
temp = 79.6
salt = 34.9
orp = 461
cal = 425
alk = 3.1 dkh
mg = 1450
n03 = rs= 3.5
po4 = .15

I do run bio pellets and on occasion I will run GFO and/or carbon.

ok so I almost never get any hair algae anymore. The tank is predomenantly sps so its a clean system. However, I do get brown algae on the glass. some of it is filament algae that comes right off but most is what looks like brown turf algae... in addition to that i also get what loos like a red turf algae on the rock. This is NOT cyan only way it will come off is with my finger nail.

I do use an RO/DI and switch filter media out regularly. I cant for the life of me figure out what is causing this stuff. I have kessil a360we led lights over the tank with a normal photoperiod.

Anyway, can anyone tell me what they think this might be and what might be causing them???
