question about c\rushed coral

I have updated to a 75 gallon tank. Would it be to much if I were to put 80 pounds of crushed coral in the tank?

I think you'll find most people around here don't use crushed coral much any more. They either use a sand bed of sugar sized sand or go bare bottom.

The idea is that sand won't catch and hold on to detritus as much as crushed coral. This way the detritus can be mechanically filtered/skimmed out of your system. Also, the cleanup crew generally can agitate and clean sand much better than crushed coral.

CC/Agronite helps buffer over the long run better then sand. but yes traps more ****. just get a better CUC, and blow it more!
