Question about cementing rocks

Will the beneficial bacteria stay on my Live rock, if i take them out of the tank to cement them into a different shape? They will be kept damp the entire time. Im assuming ill loose the bacteria, but Im hoping Im wrong. Can anyone offer some advice?

If you use hydraulic cement it will set-up very quickly, a matter of minutes so there will little if any die-off.

What kind of cement? Would you happen to know a brand name or if I can get it at a major hardware supplier? like the local HD?

Yes, any hardware store will sell it, usually in small buckets. The brand I use is King, plug-tite.. It is meant for plugging up cracks in concrete. You can also drill holes in the rock to connect them with acrylic rods them re-inforce with the plug-tite.
