I have a 100 gallon tank that developed a leak 5" from the top . I am going to seal the corner ,but put a glass in the corner for an over flow . local pet store says it will take the pressure off that corner. What do you think ,all of the other tanks i have had always have had the water level below that area it sould seal however. i just dont want that side glass to pop out

if it's that high to the top I am not sure if you will really be dealing with that much pressure. Sealing it should be fine. Don't quote me on that though. :D

Do you know the manufacturer of the tank? You can always try to call them.

Remember to remove all silicone and replace the whole bead...you will not get a good bond putting new silicone over old....also are you going to drill the tank to create a functional over flow.???...or are you just going to put that corner brace in for support and water will incidently flow over but go no where???

If you replace the whole bead....I dont see the need for a brace like your saying.....also if it isnt meant to be a functionable overflow I would just get a piece of 1 inch thick or 3/4 inch glass that is 2 inches wide and as tall as the tank. After you replace the seal place that strip of glass in the corner (silicone back of it first) then silicone both sides then you will have a brace that is better looking and be giving you a lot of surface space to reinforce that corner...
