question about fragging some zoas

cloak

I have some pink zoanthids that are really doing well. The ones on the top of the rock are flat like they are supposed to be but the ones on the lower part of the rock are reaching a little bit. Maybe 3/8" at most. Can I just take some scissors and try to cut these as close to the rock as I can and then superglue (gel) them to another rock? I usually just wait for them to overgrow a small piece of epoxy that I place near them and then just pop it of the rock, but this would be much quicker if it will work. Thanks.

You'll need to remove the polyps with at least some rock to be able to glue them down, cutting just the tops that are stretching will kill them unfortunately. I use manicure clippers from target, they look just like coral shears but at like 10% the price :)

That's what I was afraid of. I will try one just to see for myself, but thank you for the information.

Make sure you're wearing gloves and something to cover your face if you plan on doing the cutting out of water. Gloves are still a good idea if cutting is being done underwater.
