Question about grape caulerpa

I am currently growing them in my sump. Every week when I harvest, maybe one or two balls of grape escape to the display tank. Is that a concern? Will a ball of grape propagate into many more? Thanks

switch to chaeto, much less trouble in the long run. I had a sump full of grape caulerpa go sexual on me literally overnight and almost kill the tank. A four fold water replacement over the next three days as well as cleaning the gunk out of every pump in the system was needed. It's essentially a colonial monocellular plant so theoretically any stray cell could reproduce if it gets into your display. Try an urchin in your sump and see if it controls the growth

Caulerpa is a great nutrient export plant. Chaeto is more stable. Is having some escape to your display a concern to you? If so, you may try to catch escapees with a screen or net, while you harvest. If you get some growing in your display, it's easily removed.

Definitely a chance it shows up in display, but like said above... Just keep up with it as it shows up and it should be manageable

Do you have any tangs? If so, choosing a macro they like will allow you to feed them some of it. Also any escapees would be quickly gobbled up.
