Question about ich after fish are gone

I have a question about ich. All of my fish are gone except for a goby, hawkfish, green chromis. They have no signs of ich at all. Do i have to remove them too or can i leave them in and the ich will go away on its own. I would hate to remove them then i have to break my tank down. If ich is not present does that just mean its dormant until i put more fish in in three months. Or is the only foolproof way is to remove all fish and just leave inverts.

The only fool-proof method is keeping your tank fallow for 8 weeks. If there are fish in there they can host the ich and not show it...one sign of stress and their slime coat going down, and boom ich infestation.

If you want to get it out of the system all of the fish need to be removed and leave the tank fallow for 8-11 weeks leaning twords the 11.Treat the fish even though you dont see visible signs as even if you cant see it it is present on the fish most likely in the gills.-Kieth

no matter how long you quaranteen a fish or keep your tank fallow, it is my understanding that your fish may still contract ich. i had an ich-free tank, quaranteened fish etc...and i had a healthy tang for months that decided to get spooked (or something) and still got ich. my feeling is that you just have to keep the fish as healthy as possible and keep the stress levels low and that is the best prevention. i had a number of fish that were able to stay ich-free and a few that werent able to fight it. again, my experiences may not be everyone else's.

I not 100 percent but looking at my goby and hawkfish i would say they have no signs of ich or stress anywere does anyone think that they are safe to sell. They look extremely healthy and gills look clean.

If you have ich in your tank you can be assured they have ich as well.If they look clean it would take a gill scraping to see for sure.If you want to sell them make sure you let the buyer know the fish needs to be treated to make sure.If they are otherwise healthy all it would take is 2 -3 weeks of copper or quinine sulfate to make sure they were clean.
