i bought some phosguard by seachem.it says on the bottle that it does not leak phospates or silicate back into the water.also that it can be dried and reused till exhausted.what are your thoughts on that?i dried them after 4 days of use, they have a slight brown color to them.i put the used phosguard and swished it around in some ro water before drying, and tested it with my phosphate test.it come up around .01 should i reuse?thanks

i wasnt aware of the aluminum issues.it worked good on my phospates.should i do a water change then?what phospate remover do you recommend then?i put it in a filter bag in my sump and let the drain water run thru it.should buy a fluidized filter instead for phospate and carbon or should keep using the filter bags?thanks for the advice

Can you run Rowaphose through a phosban reactor, if not, how do you use it?

(i'm pretty new and just learning about phosphate removal)

Great article by the way!!

At this point, I'd recommend the iron based binders over aluminum based ones. Many folks use stirred reactors for these binders, but I'd prefer to use it in a cannister filter to reduced the likelihood of it breaking apart bit by bit and being released to the tank.

I wouldn't do a water change un less the corals have reacted badly. I'd just switch to something else (or even better, grow macroalgae). :)
