question about sexual reproduction of rotifers...

i'm doing an experiment on a rotifer culture in a petri dish under the microscope... i want to see if i can get them to produce resting eggs and some how, harvest them to be passed on to other aquarists...

i filled the petri dish about halfway with fresh saltwater... i then added around 4mL of green water taken from a healthy rotifer culture...

the idea is to dilute the green water and deprive the rotifers of their algae... within less than an hour, the cutlure had a lot of males swimming around... i've been watching it for a while now... it's interesting to see the males just go around looking for females to fertilize...

to my understanding, there are two different types of females in a stressed culture... one is the regular female that carry multiple eggs, and the other type is the ones the males are seeking to fertilize, the ones that will carry the resting eggs... after a few hours, i can see several round things on the bottom of the dish which i assumed to be resting eggs... but i noticed that some of them are transparent and i can see movement inside... are these developing resting eggs...?
