Question about using reef puddy

I just got a new frag of zoanthids and placed them in my tank on a rock. I would return the past three days to find it either moved or knocked down. So i put some puddy around the area of the disc and on to the rock, as shown

trying my best not to squish any part of it. My question is, will the zoanthid grow any less because it is surrounded by puddy? Or would using reef glue on the disc have been a better alternative?

It'll grow on it, but next time, use gel super glue for small frags. A lot easier to work with.

Yeah, thanks, I could tell once I finished placing it that glue would have been an easier and prettier option. It looked like the right amount of puddy outside the tank but was clearly too much

It will grow on it, but if it drives you crazy, it does pop off if you apply steady pressure. I had to tear down and redo my tank we popped a ton of frags off. Just an FYI.
