I haven't found a sticky for newbies on the critical questions to ask their LFS if that is their route. I would recommend if there is not one. I have a killer wicked LFS, but many do not. Just a thought....

The general consensus is to not ask your lfs for advice which they stand to profit off of. Do your research and ask questions here before going to the lfs.

If going to a LFS I would suggest getting to know the symptoms found in the diagnosis section of the link in the disease forum.

Some of the general questions I ask are
Do you run low doses of copper in your tanks?
What is the salinity of the tanks?
Can you feed the fish?
How long has it been here?
Are your corals on a separate system?
Do you dip your corals?
