so i have an acrylic overflow i had made and im ready to install it. at the bottom did you remove the silicone where the overflow meets the corner of the glass, or did you file away at your overflow in order for it to sit flush?

DO NOT CUT THE SILICONE ON THE TANK!!!!! File or sand down the plexi and glue around it, otherwise you will have a leaky tank.

I totally agree with Tyler. Don't mess with the tank itself! Cut the acrylic away and if there pack the gap with silicon after!

i figured cutting the acrylic would be the best way. stupid tap plastics made my over flow a 1/2 inch too short and i didnt have time to have them remake it. so i have these little half inch strips of acrylic i gotta put down, then glue my overflow on top of those, ugh what a pain

Afterall it's a lot better to have a slight leak between the tank and your overflow instead of between your tank and your living room!
