im moving into a 65 gallon sps & lps tank. i have the corallife super skimmer 65, and chaeto. i am moving out of a 10 gallon which even with the skimmer and chaeto, still had hair algae growing. now im just wondering if the skimmer and chaeto will work out on a 65 gallon barebottom with 5 or so fish. my sump will be a 20 gal tank. so i will have more chaeto available.

No the sand bed in the sump will collect ditritus. Get a skimmer rated for a 120-150 and 60x turnover and you be a happy reefer

Go with what Reef Daddy said,, Always double the skimmer minimum to your tank size,, 65 gallon tank - at least a skimmer rated at 125 gallons.. Those ratings are to generalized ...

i really cant upgrade the skimmer, unless i sold this one. hmm ill look into it.

i got several months till this becomes reality so ill see how im doing as far as cash.
