do you measure them from head to tail? like if they were straighten out? just trying to figuire out the length of mine and if they are sexually mature yet.
That's the most common way. You might find some references - I think it might be Project Seahorse but not sure - that use what they call "standard measurement" where they add together a measure from snout tip to gill and gill to tail - I think they are trying to standardize to measurements of other fish. But we all know that seahorses aren't like any other fish and what you will see most often is the crown to tail tip.
