question on newly added coral

i have had a 45g tank for one year now. I added 30lbs live rock about 4 months ago and am slowly adding more. The 2 clowns i have are very healthy and i am going very slowly with this tank. I just purchased my first peice of coral, it is a rock with a small cluster of green star polyps , i put it in about an hour ago and they have not opened yet. What is a normal period of time for it to open.

The ones I got never opened for days. When I transfered them to my new tank it was almost instant back out. You don't even need to acclimate those and have them survive easily lol

it can take a day or two to open, but what type of lights are you running and where did you place them in your tank?

i am running 226watts of power compacts, and i placed them a little below half way on a shelf of rock.
