So, I currently have a 36 gallon bow front I've been using for all new arrivals, but after each new fish I add to my DT after treament, I drain the tank, wait several weeks to buy a new fish, and start over. I'm thinking of setting up a permanent QT with that tank.
Here's my question - do you then have another second QT for observation after you treat? In my case here's how it would work. New fish comes in, goes in permanent QT that is cycled, then I let it settle in and start eating before starting any treatment. Once that happens, start TTM (and other treatments as necessary). After TTM - they would have to go into yet another new tank for observation for several weeks - correct?
Assuming all incoming fish have ich/some other parasite (which I do) - I couldn't put a fish straight out of TTM back into the cycled QT because whatever I may have treated for is still in the cycled tank.
So, I would still need to observe in an un-cycled QT after treatment, correct?
