Question: Should I plumb Coral Tanks Separate from FOWLR

A little background. I am currently cycling a 288g display consisting of a 180g and 2 54 bookend tanks. The system is plumbed to a basement fish room which houses a 75g sump and 65g fuge as well as all the other goodies.

I have just purchased a 220g tank/stand which I will be using as a FOWLR.

My question: Should I just add the new tank to the existing system? or should I separate this from the Coral System?

What are the pros? and Cons? My preference is to plumb it all together. I am now using a hammerhead to feed the coral system and will have adequate flow from the basement as it is currently throttled back about 1/3.

Note, I have the Reeflo Orca 250 Pro Protein Skimmer, so skimmer should be sufficent for system.

For those who will ask, here is a picture of the coral system. There is another 54g corner bowfront at the opposite end that you cannot see. Since this picture, I have added two MH HQI pendents. Note this is still a work in progress, so ignore the mess :D

Id keep em different. FOWLR you can medicate if you wish, and thatd harm the corals, obviously. It also ensures your water quality stays a lot better if you dont have a messy FOWLR plumbed in with it. Thats just my preference though.

Thanks. Never thought about the medicating. I have a QT, but as we all know, things happen.
