What size canister filter should I have for a 30g rimless jbj. I just wanna make an add on. At the moment I have a mini canister filter which is weakkk! Should I go for a canister that's rated for 60gph?

I would add a 10g sump if possible be a lot better and you can clean up the front and back of the tank

Is this for a reef? What are you trying to keep? I ask because I don't think the canister is necessary.

If I had that tank, I'd rely on biological filtration through liverock in the tank, carbon in a filter sock and/or a polyfilter in the back compartment, and water changes. If you want to get aggressive, go with a hang-on skimmer instead of the canister.

My tank is fine without it but yea I want to get more aggressive I guess. There are a few dead spots where crap settles and I want to eliminate that although my mini filter isn't powerful enough. It is in fact a reef

If your trying for flow, get a wp-25 and you will be set, just use it on lowest setting or you will have a mess
