in my sump I have metal hose clamps. what can i use instead?? any one know if they make plastic ones and where i can find them??

What are you using the metal clamp for (btw, get it out!!!)?

I've looked in Lowes and HD for the plastic ones but couldn't find any....doesn't mean you can't find any locally. You can get them online though.

As a substitute, I've used a couple of plastic zip ties pulled real tight for holding hose to small pumps...like a maxijet....wouldn't recommend them for larger pumps under pressure.

I have zip pulls but my husband is afraid that they won't hold. even though it say's up to a 1000 pounds of pressure. I went this weekend to home depo, true value, lwes and no one has them I even went to eddie with no luck

I've seen them at some boat and auto parts stores. Your best bet will be a marina as the plastic clamps are common in outboard engines.

All of the online stores have them in the plpumbing section, rather inexpensive and, with price of gas, sometimes cheaper

You can also use zip ties for wiring. just pull it tight with some pliers. I don't bother with it though for the pump in my sump. Too much trouble. If hose isn't fitting tight to the output of the pump then it is either the wrong sized hose, or too stretched (just snip off the last inch to fix this problem).

in any case get those metal clamps out asap! heck look at it this way imagine if you get them out and all your issues suddenly go away.unlikly but not immpossible.
