questions about H. Zosterae?

I'm considering setting up a small 2-3gl nano tank and was told that the dwarf seahorse H. zosterae might be suitable for a tank of this size. I have another 40gl system that i plan on pulling sand and LR from along with macro algae. Since i have a mature system doing water changes should be easy and upkeep shouldnt be a problem. So do you think that this species is suitable for what i am planning? I understand they need a constant supply of baby brine shrimp (which i feed to my other tanks anyways) and that hydroids are a problem for them, what are steps to ensure these are not introduced?
Thanks!
Ryan

2-3 gallons would definately be good, and you could have a bunch of them in there...bbs does need to be hatched every day. but since you are already doing it...more power to you! the sand and macro should be fine although i would worry about hydroids on the rock from the other tank. i would checkout seahorse.org and see if they say anything about the rock. good luck with it and post some pics when you get it all up!

If youre going to add anything live to the tank besides the horses themselves, (especialy live sand or macros) I would treat the tank with fenbendazol or panacur. Hydroids can pop up out of no where and kill off your herd.

My herd of dwarfs was compleatly devestated by these nasty lil buggers
