I just got this tank to trasfer my coral from a 29 gollon,

is a 250 MH with 2 65 watt tottaling to 380 watts ok for a 65 tank?

This tank has a flimsy brace in the middle, is it ok to remove that?

Yes, 380w is perfect. I wouldn't remove the brace, it would have been put there for a reason.

personally i would not remove the brace, its there to stabilise the tank, the lights sound ok too, however im not an expert by anymeans on aquarium lights

beat me too it:lol:

A single MH will likely be placed over the middle of the tank where the brace is, and will melt it. Go 2 x 150w or T5HO instead of MH.

Thats what i was thinking, will have to replace it then. Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Yep, that brace is in the way, but I wouldnt remove it. Look for an alternative lighting solution, I've been really happy with T5 setups.
