Questions on Clown Tank!

A couple of questions~
Just refinished my 55. How many clowns can I hold in it (true perc)? All that I have in it right now are some shrimp, a damsel, hermit crabs, snails, and an engineer goby.

Can I put 4-5 small clowns in??

Also, will I have any coral limitations with 2x175 mh and 220 watts cf??

Thanks!

It depends on the size. Your problem will not be the bioload, but rather, aggression. Personally I think that you may be able to get away with 4 clowns if you put an appropriate anemone on each end of the tank. But it really depends upon the personality of the individuals in question. It's just one of those things that you have to try in order to find out for sure.

How big is the hermit? Blue leg? Scarlet? or one of those ones that grow huge?

There's alot of differing opinions about lighting. I've seen beautiful SPS tanks with over 10 watts per gallon and some with less than 5 watts per gallon. I believe it comes down to the ability of the MH light in penetrating the water through the depth of the tank. With that said, I believe that you'll be just fine if you wanna keep SPS under that lighting.

I have a group of blue legs, a couple scarlets...all very small. i'm trying to sell of one giant one though. I'm not too worried about the bioload since I have probably 100+ lbs of lr and a protien skimmer along with my filters.

Thanks for the advice!
