quick fuge question

does anyone out there...ever clean their fuge? even a bit...tank is 3 months old, I pulled out some cheato for my first "trim" and i ended up stirring up a bunch of crap. Ended up back in tank. Should I be siponing the dirt of the top of the sand bed in the fuge at all? All i have in fuge is 5 inches of LS, some LR, and cheato, some pods and some red spiny worms. Any advice would be appreciated

I don't touch my sandbed or live rock in my fuge. Some pods will feed on that crap in there. I keep a HOB filter running on the back of my fuge, to help with particulate matter and whatnot but I still get a bit of buildup like that though.

this is a good question. My fuge has been running for a few months. it's looking a bit grungy now...
