Quick glass-holes overflow question (leak testing)

Is it normal for water to enter the overflow box from behind the box itself down where the gasket hole is?

I just installed the box a week or two ago and I'm doing leak testing now. There doesn't appear to be any water from leakage on the back of my tank, but as I was filling the tank I noticed water dripping into my sump from the drain line before I had any water entering the overflow from the teeth. So it appears water is entering the overflow box from behind (where the premade hole is).

Thanks!

How do you have the gaskets?
There should be a BH_flange|gasket|OF box|gasket|tank|BH nut sandwich.

I started to type, "As long as water doesn't leak out of the tank, I don't think the water coming in from behind is a problem" but don't think that is correct. If water can get to threads on the OD of the BH (the ones the big nut screws into) it can get out of the tank!

Yeah I have the bulkheads installed exactly as the instructions say. I drained the tank a bit and discovered it is actually the acrylic box itself that has a leak. It is in the rear left of the bottom of the box where the water is entering, not anywhere near the bulkhead like I initially thought.

I have sent glass-holes an email about it, I'm hoping it is something that won't affect my system as I really don't want to go through the hassle of uninstalling the whole box and reinstalling a new one...

It will reduce the amount of surface skimming the OF does. Is it significant? Well that depends on the size of the leak!

A little trickle, probably no big deal. If it's a large percentage of the amount going over the weir then it should be replaced.

I don't think it is that large of a leak, it takes around 3-4 minutes before enough water leaks in to the point that it starts entering the drain (maybe 1-2 inches). I've heard good things about their customer service so hopefully I can get a reply sooner than later

I thought about that, but it would be hard for me to get the silicone down to the area. Glass-holes is sending me a new one thankfully
