Quick Need Help PLEASE!

Noticed last night my largest Clarkii Clown, and my Rusty Angel have quite a bit of dusty looking white speckles on them. My smaller Clarkii has a little, my pseudochromis and my little hippo has a touch on the top of them.

After work I'm flying home to quick setup a QT and get them out. I've read that QTs can be setup rather quickly... correct?

Also, I have a good amount of corals in my tank, are they okay or will they catch whatever my fish have?

Also, what do you guys think they have and what do I need to do?

Lastly, I've read a bit around in the Stickies and my fish have been staying near the top of my tank a bit more than usual... not sure if there is a reason for that.

With the limited information provided, it sounds like velvet. If so, you had better act quickly as it is very quickly lethal. Fresh water dip (relieves gill issues a bit) followed by a formalin bath then into cupramine for 4 weeks. Leave your tank fallow for six weeks.

A pic would help. If you Google "marine velvet", include images, you should be able to tell just what you have. "Dusty" sounds like velvet and the fish looking for the most oxygen fits. This is deadly, very fast acting stuff. The stickies at the top of the disease forum should help. FW/formalin baths, then copper are my preferred treatments. This stuff can wipe out a tank overnight and I worry about velvet more than ich. Its a prime reason to use a QT with all new fish.

The odd thing is I haven't added a fish since last August.

Only changes I've made to my tank recently have been adding a harlequin shrimp and a few coral frags.

Is there any chance the Shrimp could have brought it in?

1 bucket for FW dip, another for formalin bath and then a tank for QT?

Also, how long do I put them in the Formalin for?

Do I have to remove my corals from my display tank during the fallow period?

Can I just mix saltwater together for my QT or does it have to have time to cycle? Use water from the display or brand new saltwater?

I haven't used formalin so I will leave that to others.

You can leave the corals and shrimp and other inverts in the tank while it is fallow.

If you make up new seawater, you should vigorously aerate it for an hour or two before adding fish. The preferred method is to let is set for 24 hours before adding fish, but you won't have that much time.

With your QT not cycled, you are going to have to perform many water changes to manage ammonia. Your test kit won't accurately read ammonia while you are treating with Cupramine.
