quick question choosing heater for big tank

After pumps and lights you don't need as much heat as you may think. I run 2, 150 watt and one in-line 300 watt. Oh yea basement sump here and 55-60 degree basement.

And "best" is a few smaller ones rather than one big one. Less chance of temp related problems. If a smaller one sticks on it is less likely to boil your tank before you see the problem. I have 3 on about a 400 gallon system, 2 200w, and one 300w.

I concur!! I have five 500 watt Jalli heaters and five Medusa controllers...one for each heater:D

same here I have 2 300watt heaters - actually I'm only running the one now as I"m in Fl and don't really need much of a heater. But I liked the idea if one went out the other would still be working and if one froze it wouldn't be strong enough to cook my tank
