i'm buying a reef octopus hob 1000 skimmer and my question is when i get this do i have to run my marine land penguin 200 filtration ? or would the protein skimmer be enough. i have a 36 gallon bow

if you don't have a sump, you could put activated carbon,purigen, etc in there and run.
