My powder blue came from QT into display and after a few days got stressed and got ich. I guess cause they are ich prone how am I able to keep a ich prone fish stress free so it doesn't contract ich. Yes I know all fish have ich and as they become stressed it comes out like a cold but this powder blue wiped out all my fish There was 6 fish in the tank. I was told that the small powder blues witch is what I had stress more then adults but I love the color and the fish what should I do

Quick question

No all fish do not have ich. That is not true. Ich can be treated. I use the tank transfer method on all my fish and then keep them in QT. The tang should be removed and treated for its affliction.

Well all the fish are dead now he was the added fish and killed the fish I had for a year. In the future how can I keep a ich prone fish from getting ich may sound crazy but I like the powder blue but it is a ich prone fish like a hippo so don't know what to do

Best way to prevent crypto (ich) from infecting your DT is to establish a good quarantine protocol for all new acquisitions. Understanding the parasite's life cycle is extremely helpful as well. Recommend reading the stickies at the top of this forum for recommendations.

If introduction of the PBT killed all your fish, it may not have been crypto as it does not kill quickly. You may have been dealing with velvet, depending on timelines.

I agree. The timeline is not consistent with cryptocaryon irritans, more consistent with velvet. If you have a robust quarantine protocol, these issues can be avoided.
