My ballasts are located in my garage which can get to freezing in winter. I haven't had any problems in 3 winters but I recently located my dosing pump on the same shelf and I know that could freeze up. I was thinking if I put a styrofoam cooler covering the 2 ballasts and the doser using the heat from the ballasts to warm the doser from freezing. So question is, do the ballasts need to be in open air for ventilation purposes? I don't plan on totally smothering them would cut 2 openings for some air circulation. Thanks
