My LFS just got a Rainbow Bubble Anemone. Will my clowns go into it ?

I have a mated pair of Ocellaris and a mated pair of Percula

I borrowed this pic from the net, but the one in the lfs is exactly the same

depending on your tank ONE pair will go in it. when that happens there may be a territorial fight on who gets to play in it

Thats not my main concern. Most probably will end up going the Ocellaris, cause they are twice as big.

My concern is if this nem is especially for them for doing simbiosis (sorry for my english)

Thanks

Go for it!!! unfortunately though it may take days weeks or even months for them to go in. You might just get lucky though and have them paired up in hours. :)

Good Luck!!!

E. Quadricolor anemones are not the natural host for occelaris or percula clowns. However, while it could take awhile, that doesn't mean that they won't eventually occupy the anemone.

Im not saying do this but i get a small plastic pipette and whichever clown u want to go into the anemone use the pipe to herd the clown towards the nem and when they get towards the nem back off and let them feel secure by the nem if they leave herd them back and keep repeating.but do this in 3-5 min boughts as to not stress them alot. Just like if a bigger fish likes a spot in the wild that a smaller fish occupies the bigger fish will drive/herd the smaller fish outta there. This always worked for me.

Thanks guys. Allthough i like more the method of driping the nem with the clows together. Being in a small conteiner for about an hour, they will be inside the nem in no-time.

cheers

I wouldn't do this. It's not a great idea to force them together before the clowns are ready. Just let them be in the tank together and be patient.

Mine took 4 months or so to get in my RBTA. I helped things along by placing the RBTA where the clowns had staked out their favorite spot. Both will go in but the female sleeps in it and goes in and out all day. At first I noticed the female looking at it a lot, then getting closer, then glancing off of it and eventually it was in. The clowns were pretty young when I got them so maybe they had to mature? The male was in it a lot one day but I haven't seen him go in since. He sleeps alone at night :-(.

it took my percs over a year to go into an RBTA but they finally did and they love it! awesome sight as well
