It started as a saltwater tank and mangrove pods to root them and add to my 120. but forgot about them and all I do is dump out rain water when it gets too full. probably about 20 local mangroves and 3 inches of sand and a Koralia NANO 240 for circulation. light but good ole south Florida sun. its about a year old

Throw some gambusia or other small fish and grass shrimp in that bad boy :)

definately thought of putting life in it but then would need to be more careful dumping water out...
thinking of upgrading to a 40 breeder for an out door refugium just would need to figure out rain issues and salinity

So no filtration at all,no water changes and just a powerhead? Very cool. I wonder if I put one of these on my balcony it will have the same success?

lately been getting daily water changes.. rain storm when stops empty 1/2 water next day repeat..... oh I occasionally through a handfull of fertilizer in there....

darkness of water is due to sloshing it around when I 1/2 emptied it by tipping on side....
