razor led help

Wasn't getting the response I was hoping for in the lighting forum. Perhaps here I will hear from people with similar issues regarding their SPS and led's.

"Hi. My tank is a 24" cube. Primarily SPS with lots lps down low in the tank. My parameters are always pretty constant. Tunze skimmer, Kalk and bio calcium and water changes. Used to run a 10bulb power module. Way too much light. But had great colours and good penetration. Recently moved and changed the lighting to a maxspect razor. Lately my SPScorals have been bleaching from the base up. Real real slow though. So perhaps this will reverse before the need to frag. LPS are ridiculously happy.
Have others had similar problems. Any solutions you know of? Advice....
I'd rather not go back to the T5's if it is not necessary.
Thanks in advance."

Have your parameters changed at all since moving your rocks around? I have heard of PO4 rising / falling too quickly can cause bleaching from the base up. Also, I have heard of pests causing this. Is your alkalinity the same? For me personally when I have seen any type of STN, my alkalinity has either changed or my PO4 has dropped too quickly (too much GFO in my case).

I would suspect the issue is shading, your T5's were able to spread the light to most of the corals surfaces and the Razor is not, it causes the areas that are not getting the light that they were accustomed to to fade away.

I agree on the shading. And that the backside which is no longer getting adequate light, is fading to the point of bleaching. But I don't feel it adequately addresses the base bleaching. But maybe it does. This is a fairly new problem for me. Had no issues when I went from MH to T5. Guess I just figured the same would hold true for LED as many seem to be kkeping SPS with them.
