Razor on magnet

Bob has one and he loves it also. Takes all the work out of it, no more scraping off all the coraline on the edges every few months.

I found out the PBT has developed an obsessive compulsive disorder toward it. It used to be he only chased the magnet when it was moving. Now with this thing glued to it, he spends his whole day dive bombing it even when it's 'parked' up in the corner. :lol:

I ATTEST THAT THE SCRAPER IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. CLEANING THE ALGAE ON THE BOTTOM WAS VERY DIFFICULT PRIOR TO GETTING THE SCRAPER. THE TANK LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER WITH CLEAN GLASS.

great, so I ordered one and it did not come with a blade. What's up with that. You would think it would come with at least one, or say that they are sold separately.

Bummer, now I have to wait until the next order.

Mine came with a blade. Check yours again.

I super glued it to the magnet. After use, I remove the razor blade so it doesn't rust.

I got mine on ebay, with a blade included + an extra pack of 5 blades & shipping all for under $20. Love it!

The blade was attached, but retracted.

I got mine from reefgadgets.com over a year ago and I would not live without it. Nothing is better to get right down to the sand bed and in the corners.

I just buy the 100 pack of razor blades from Harbor Freight. You just have to wipe the oil off of the blade and they are good for one use, maybe two. Do those take a special blade? Do you have Harbor Freight down there?

So how did it turn out Scott? I just ordered one. Do I need to order the blade separately?

no. its there, I just did not play with it. It is a retractable blade, so it was in the safety position.

I actually was not that impressed with it. My magnet cleaner is an Algae free and made for 3/8" glass. When I upgraded to the 110tall the glass was 1/2" The magnet skips a bit when cleaning the glass and this causes teh razor to jump and not scrape.

Does anyone else have this problem with the jumping razor?

Jumping razors! Oh no! What if you just go a little bit slower?

did not work. tried that. The magnet is strong and tries to resist moving. When it does, it jumps. I think I need a stronger magnet with the 1/2" glass so that small movments pulls the inner assembly along with it during small movements.

Mine's attached to a large Magfloat, and it's pretty smooth.
