Hey guys,

I have three anemones that I got it with the tank. They seems to be ok and they are eating. But they have white crust on their body ( around mouth area ). Is that normal? or Does it mean lack of something? Also, do you guys think my anemones have a lot less tentacles? The color of tentacles base are changing too. When I first received them, it was all red but now they r changing to greenish color. Is this normal too?

Thanks in advance

How long have you had the tank for?

The white stuff you are talking about... Are you referring to the white lines you can see around the mouth? If so that's normal,
Be careful not to over feed them, takes a while for them to digest their food.

My BTAs look fairly similar to yours, I'm currently thinking of adding more lighting to my tank as I feel they aren't getting what they need throughout the day. I am currently running two 8 LED AquaRay reef strips, but thinking of changing it to two aquaray 8 led white strips and another two aquaray marine blue strips. So going from 16 LEDs at a 2:3 ratio to 32 LEDs at a 1:1 ration of blue and white LEDs.

Perhaps Dkhulmann is right about lack of light. - what lighting are you using?

The tank is about 2 months old. I bought a used setup but I cleaned out most of the stuff. Yes, The white stuff I am referring to is, those white lines that you can see through out the body. I feed them twice a week, half of silverside. I am using following led light. At 30% white and 30% blue.

This is how I have mine setup at. I took this pics a month ago.

the light looks pretty underpowered for nems...the eggcrate on top is not helping either. it is probably blocking a lot of light considering the dark areas around the tank.

Ic, that might be one reason. Thanks for pointing it out. How much should I dial up? Should I buy another led and put them side by side or dialing up should be enough for my tank?

It doesn't look like dialing it up will give enough coverage throughout the tank. It's a good start though. I think 2 side by side will be your best best longer term... I would probably crank them up to 40%, wait a week, raise them up again etc and see how it goes

Do u guys see any other possible issue? I will be leaving town for a month, will they be ok with 40% light for a month with no feeding?
