So I have a real nice rbta and I have a new tank I want to transfer him to but he's attached to a rock I don't want to bring in to the new tank (bubble algae) any tricks to safely removing or getting them to release their hold on a rock? Thanks for the help.

Gently rub it foot and start to gently work your finger between foot and rock. I would move the rock and I bet it moves some to adjust making it easier to remove.

Im doing the same thing tomorrow, only difference is my RBTA split a few weeks ago so now I have 2 I have to remove!!

If none of the above works, which they are all good ideas.Use a hammer and chisel.Leave the Nem on a piece of the rock.

I sold a very large one and ended up having to give away a large rock with it. I just couldn't get it to come loose. I tried for a week. Good luck with yours.

Ice: fail
Turkey Baster: fail
Hang upside down: fail..... Gonna hope it moves over night and gets the hint from today's pestering I gave it.

Lol i know i shouldnt be talking yet as my attempts havent been the greatest yet. But im at the store now so i will check when i get back home

The screwdriver or chisel and a hammer will take care of it pretty quickly. But the extreme flow usually does work.

Use a maxijet. Blow water inbetween the foot and the rock. Flow has to be direct and strong. Might take a few minutes for anemone to let go.

Imagine peeling paint of the wall. That is the technique.

This worked for me. I tried all of the above suggestions and nothing worked. But he let go once I started banging on the rock to try to break it! So I was able to move him sans rock. No worse for wear. Good luck.
