I'm having an issue with my substrate being crushed coral and keeping it clean, I'm thinking of changing to only sand. If I go that route will I have to go through the entire cycling process again? I plan on saving all the water that's currently in the tank
Your water holds little to no nitrifying bacteria. Your rocks do. As long as you aren't removing those, I'd not be too worried. If you have a high bio load, I might consider removing the crushed coral in sections to allow the bacteria to 'catch up'
