Re-Pairing A Male Clarkii

I lost my female Clarkii over the weekend. I've had her for over 4 years and she decided to jump on Saturday night

Anyway, I now have a very lonely looking 3 yo male. I am thinking that if I am wanting to add a juvenile (eventually) to pair, that it would be easier (on the juvenile) if I were to do it now rather than later?? Also, is it correct that the 3 yo male will become the female?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Now that the female is gone yes he will turn into a she . Make sure the new addition is a little smaller than your current clown .

Cool. It seemed pretty clear in the Pairing FAQ, but since this Clarkii had been paired before I thought I should ask (better safe than...).

Thanks

Update

I picked up a new juvenile yesterday and the male immediately started chasing the newcomer around the tank (as expected) until the little fella found a place to hide. Today the new Clarkii is out and about and is even making "attempts" to chase the 3 yo around (really weak attempts...it is kind of cute). Anyway, I am very happy that the new fish is fitting in so quickly. :)
