real-time salinity and DO - is it needed?

i'm about ready to pull the trigger on an aquacontroller. the question is really one of ac3 vs ac3 pro. the main differences are expandability (the pro can handle more attached devices, but the 3 is still waaay more than i need) and feature set. the only discernable feature difference i can see is that the pro can also measure salinity and dissolved organics. are these two datapoints worth the extra $200 + probes?

Personally, I do not see the need for the two extra probes on a regular basis. However, you are a computer geek. Computer geeks like lots of data. Therefore you will enjoy having the extra data at your finger tips. LOL

FWIW, DO= dissolved oxygen, not dissolved organics in case that influences your decision. Unless you plan to stock the system to the absolute limits or do an actual study, I can't think of any reason you need a constant reading of these parameters.

I have the 3 pro and I dont use the DO. The probe, just the probe is $450. As for the salinity, I find it extremely useful for leaks, wet skimming etc.. I have the alarm set if it gets a little too low.
