Realistic, artificial seaweed for reef tank

So I've decided to take my build to the next level. Seems a little silly but I've decided to pick up a Sargassum Angler and add him to my reef. I understand that there might eventually be fish loss and I'll be forced to accept that. But I've decided to add some artificial Sargassum seaweed to my tank to give this guy a couple comfortable spots in the tank to hang out, hide and hunt. I'm wondering if anyone else has done something of this nature (hobbiests, not public aquarium) and what was your experience with the artificial plants??

Link below is from the company I'm considering ordering from.

Not artifical plants, but i have added zip tie chains to my tank for my dwarf seahorse tank before. no problems. Even painted them before adding them in (and cured them)

There are many with FOWLR tanks that have artificial corals so i dont see a problem with artifical algae.

Or you can try and get real sargassum or similar plants. gulf coast ecosystems does them well.

I guess my question is more catering to if anyone has done this technique in a reef tank. I've seen plenty of FW tanks with artificial plants.

As far as LIVE Sargassum...
I considered this option also. Just worried if the plant goes A Sexual and screws my tank up somehow. Not sure how well this would go over. Also not sure of exactly what it may need (besides light?) to sustain proper health.

yea there will be no problems. ive had zoas with my dwarf seahorses back when.

I personally recommend: https://www.live-plants.com/

Very affordable, great amount of macro algae, and if you email them , they should let you know when they would have sargassum back in stock, or if you request, they wil probably collect it for you. The one GCE sells also isnt the floating kind so thats a plus.

I'm sure all macroalgae CAN go sexual but i really havent heard sargassum doing it often, so i dont think it will be much of a problem.

I made contact with them. Hope to hear back soon. I think this should be a neat addition. Might make a dedicated tank for the Angler since I have triggers in my main DT. Don't think I want them picking on him
