Really bummed.

Filled with excitement over my new (first) arrivals for my newly set-up 30gal.
I managed to get two Yasha Gobies while on sale and one is D.O.A.
I just feel like crying, this really stinks, poor little feller.

He still seems a little lethargic to me. He settled in the front corner yesterday, moves around a little every now and then. There is just enough ambient light now that I was able to locate him, still in the same spot as yesterday. Seems a little odd that he didnt go into the rocks overnight.
Hopefully he'll get a little more ambitious once the lights come on today.

I had a tangaroa goby who did the same thing, sat in the front corner for a few days night and day. He ate like a pig though and eventually settled under the rocks in a little cave.

Is your little guy eating?

Have not tried feeding yet. Kept the lights very dim till lights out yesterday and figured give him time to rest. I'll try feeding a little later today.

Those yasha gobies are nice looking but they never come out. One thing they never tell you is that these fish tend to bury themselves in the sand and you likely will never see them again. I have one in my 120 gallon reef and saw him once and thats when we put him in. I'm sure he's in there but we never see him. There are a ton of hiding places though hahaha

He is really coming around now. Ate a little bit, cruises around from time to time and has found a burrow under a rock that he rests in.
He also found the pistol shrimp I put in with him. They havent quite got it figured out yet, the shrimp is in the top of the rock and the goby has his hole at the bottom of the same rock. The goby has gone into the rock with the shrimp a few times but the shrimp is reluctant to come out. I would guess they will make the move during darker hours and I'm confident they will get it figured out soon enough.
