Recommend a red fish for me

I'm thinking my FOWLR needs a little red color in it. In about a month, I will be ready to add another fish and would like to add an interesting red one. Can someone recommend a red fish that had a good personality and is interesting to watch?

My current tank is 150g, with a foxface, humu trigger, niger trigger, tiny queen angel and powder blue tang.

I've already had a flame angel in my reef tank and I don't want another one. But I'm open to any other suggestions.

Thanks!

I've been looking for a V-Tail Grouper, I just can't find it anywhere. How about a Cuban Hogfish? What are they like?

I forgot to mention it in my list but I also have a yellow canary wrasse.

I was going to suggest a coris wrasse but you mingt have issues with that and the wrasse you already have. If the wrasse you have is not very large I would still give it a go.

A Harlequin Tusk is one of the fish I am thinking about getting. But I'd like to wait until I can find an Australian one.

My yellow wrasse is pretty big. I've had him for a long time and is now close to 5". So I've been a little afraid to add another wrasse.

Flame Hawks are nice. Would it get picked on by the Triggers though, since it's a lot smaller?

I don't think a Hawk Fish would do well with the Triggs....Harlequin is a good choice for Orange, I have one with my Sunset Wrasse.....I wish I would say Maroon Clown, but for some reason Niger Triggers like to beat up Maroons. I don't care for them, but a Big Eye Soldierfish is red, and would work out ok.

Yours too? I used to have a pair of Maroon Clowns and my Niger shredded them to pieces. I had to move them to my other tank where they made a full recovery.

Pretty easy to find an Australian Harlequin online. Might have to wait longer if you need someone at your LFS to order one.

This is what multiple FAs would look like in case you reconsider:

Wow, I hope that isn't the case. I have a flame hawk and a maroon clown with my Niger trigger. The trigger and clown have been together for almost 2 years and the clown kicks the crap out the trigger (whenever the trigger tries to go near the cleaner shrimp that lives in the clowns cave) The flame hawk has been in the tank for 2 months and hasn't been bothered by anyone yet... I also had an arc eye hawkfish with the trigger that wasn't bothered by it but that hawk died from a velvet outbreak. The only fish that has been picked on by the niger is my kole tang.... After 1 month in the display tank they still have skirmishes and the kole ends up with minor scars.

Here is how mine went...I had a 5 inch bruiser Maroon Clown when I added a 2 inch Niger. My Maroon had a rock/territory he liked to guard against all intruders, the Niger would wonder in and get chased away. This happened for about 2 years then the Niger hit 5 + inchs and all of a sudden one day he decided he wasn't going to take the abuse anymore. Within a day I had to move the Maroon out or he would have been dead, his fins were all frayed, he was a mess, I put him in my smaller tank until he healed, then put him back in the DT, he went back to trying to guard his rock and the Niger went right back to beating him to death. Out came the Maroon to live out his days in my smaller tank.

There are 2 other guys that post on SWF.com with almost identical stories. IMO, Nigers make good community juvi's, but very Triggerlike adults. As far as the Hawk, I would always be leary of them with Triggers due to their inquisitive nature and Hawks being inactive much of their day.

Not trying to scare you, all fish are different, hopefully yours well remain passive. Triggers can tend to "snap" though.

Ok, good thing I'm not that attached to the Niger. Been thinking about finding a new home for him anyway.
