.....for my 30 gal reef tank, it's uncovered at the top and I have a pair of True Percula Clowns and assorted soft corals....

Thanks !!

Triggers get too large for that small of a tank. I would go with a small blenny, small goby, small pygmy angel.

They're just joking with the trigger - its like the "i have a penguin filter, 10 gal tank and i'd like to take home 3 yellow tangs"

Realistically for a tank that size maybe a yellow watchman goby, or a sixline wrasse or um.. I'd definitely look into a blenny- they are chalk full of personality but be careful when selecting one because some can be jumpers or not

if you have a deeper sandbed than normal theres jawfish.. ummm

I can totally recommend some kind of shrimp too (avoid coral banded if you'd like to have more docile critters in the tank) or maybe a porcelain crab (reef safe filter feeders)

If you have a LFS nearby stop by and see what they might recommend for a "nano" selection and liveaquaria has a nice section on it to give you a fair idea of whats realistic to keep in a smaller tank too

Get a sweet looking goby or blenny of some kind. If you want mean but somewhat good looking fish get some damsels. Even get 2 or 3 chromis to make a tiny school like I did. Good luck.

I personally like gobies and there are several smaller species perfect for nano tanks. You will definitely need to get a secure lid to cover the top of the tank cause gobies are known jumpers!

I've got a 29G aquarium, livestock is a bit on the heavey side but all the params are good. I've got a pair of clarkii clowns a dragon goby aa falco's hawk fish and a pair of baby green chromis ( holding them for a friend, really cute only half an inch long each). Out of all of them the hawkfish is probably my favorite. Asuming you don't want shrimp I would get a hawk fish. And if you do want a shrimp then just get a very small hawk fish and a very large cleaner shrimp ( mine cleaner is huge and pins my hawk down and cleans him)

Already have 2 blood shrimp and a peppermint shrimp :(

Royal Gramma - Easy, hardy, pretty, reef safe, peaceful, and they do not get too big. However, it is not a real social fish and prefers to sit and watch it's tank mates from under a ledge (except at feeding time).

Lawnmower Blennie - Easy, hardy, reef safe, loads of personality, but can sometimes get aggressive with other fish. Will work with your clean up crew to keep algae off of the rocks.

HTH

BTW - If I did not have to keep peppermints in my tank to keep the aptasia in check, I would be looking at keeping a hawkfish myself. They are a lot of fun to watch.

So I just picked up my 58 gal that I am going to move everything into mid June....maybe I can get my Blue Tang now if I get a SMALL one :)
