Red Algae ID

I know its hard to do but here goes nothing:

I have this red algae growing on a friends live rock (he bought from another hobbyist). It is dark red, short, rough and brittle, and a real PIA to remove (like scrubbed with a wire brush and barely comes off) So far its only grown on the live rock. Looking for something that may eat it. Here are the best pics I could take without a macro lense.

i would like to know how to get rid of it as well... i've tried searching but not finding much details on it

ive had it on almost all my LR i found the only way to get rid of it was a good scrubbin
