I was doing some work and noticed something that kinds looks like read bubble algae.

It isnt as hard as bubble algae, its softer and i can move it around where its attached too.

Anyone might know. I will try and get some pics tomorrow when I get home.

Don't assume you need to get rid of it. I got some from Sam (bluenassrius) and it is growing slowly and looking nice. Coral Reef Shop has a few tanks with different types macro algae mixed in with the reef animals. I think it gives a nice look.

Some people consider red bubble algae a pest similar to 'valonia'. I guess it just depends on whether it takes over your tank.

I like the look of red & green macroalgae in my tank, but (besides Halimeda) I can only keep it in areas where my tang can't reach it.

The interesting (at least to me) thing about Botryocladia is that it appears to be a good medicine - an extract from one species (B. leptopoda) can kill the filarial worms that cause elephantiasis, while another (B. occidentalis) contains a compound which may be a better anticoagulant than heparin!

ya looks like the last one in there, But I will get pics from the tank when I get home.

Thanks for the links guys. You are great.
