Red Macro Dying

So I had some sort of red macro (sorry, don't have anymore detail than that). Came in a bunch on a small rock and when I first added to my tank it seperated in half. Its been fine for about 2 months now. Just got back from vacation so I missed a wc (I do weekly wc) and its almost all dead. Its all seperated into single strands for the most part and the ends are tipped with yellow (its not dragon's breath). Not sure if this is a lighting problem, nitrate problem, or something else. There was a lot of cyano in the tank, but as far as I can tell, not too much on the macro.

I have a finex ray 2 50\50. Not the strongest of lights, but figured it would be alright. Thinking thats the problem...thoughts?

Pics would help. :)
They can die off from an abundance of light or nutrients. They can also die off from a lack of light or nutrients.
Your light is probably bright enough, and depending on placement may even be too bright. Macros tend to take a long time to die in low light.

Light placement (pics!) and specific nutrient levels (nitrate and phosphate) will help figure it out.
