Anybody else experience Red Planet being a poor shipper? I've had 3 different frags over the past month and none of them have made it, the first 2 RTN'd in the bag an the third just RTN'd after only 3 days in my tank. These were all different situations too. First one was one I picked up at RAP and kept it in a styro lined box for around 24 hours with a clam, a few other Acro's, and zoos. When I got home the water the frag was in was cloudy the frag itself had no flesh or polyps and the water had a horrible smell. The clam and all other corals made it just fine.
The second one I got a week later, it was a fresh cut from a fellow reefers tank and I also had to keep it in a box for around 24 hours, it also had cloudy water when I got it home, this one had patchy skin and all polyps were still there and extended but as soon as I put it in my tank all the flesh blew off, it still had red polyps, but it was completely gone the next morning. With this batch I had 4 other acro frags, some acans and zoos that made it just fine and the water temp was 78 degrees when I got home.
The third was a replacement for the one I got from RAP, this time it was actually shipped over night via fedex and spent about 18 hours in a box, it made it through acclimation but looked a little stressed. After 3 days it has completely RTN'd. Just like the first 2 times, the rest of the corals I got with this shipment are doing just fine. Here's a pic of the latest frag I received after it started to RTN.
