Red Sea Alkalinity Test

What is a good test kit? I have the Red Sea and it has a range for alk results. Is there a way to pin point the alk with this kit?

I second the Salifert test kits. I have used the Red Sea but it really does not give you an acurate reading.

what about the natureef seaanlysis?? what do you guys think of that one?? i have one and either its old or im really doin somthing wrong..but i aswell have been wanting a new alkalinity test of my own

<------salifert also.

ive wasted my money on all other test kits, best advice is just spend the extra bucks once, so your not questioning your cheaper brands with iregular results.

Salifert...I used Natureef when I used Natureef chemicals. It always seemed to read higher than other kits. Salifert is easy to use and accurate.

I switched to salifert and i won't go back. I really like their test kits.

Agreed! I am still on my SeaChem Calcium Test kit and its got a lot left. The problem is you have to supply your own Distilled/DI water and I would like DI, but have to settle for Distilled. RO/DI won't cut it for some reason. Anyways, the test kit always came out with lower then usual results... but I just tested it and it was @ 450ppm for calcium and 4.5 meq/l (or meq/l... w/e). Soooo... seems like I did something correct and my results are on point. My pH according to my RK2 is 8.38.... I'm a happy camper.

But yeah the Saliferts are very good and easy to use. Don't be cheap... get the real stuff!
